Tutoring terms
What you agree to when you enrol in tutoring.
Who you are buying from
Tutoring is sold and billed by Big Brain Education, Didact Technologies Pty Ltd. Classes may be taught by a tutoring provider that works with us, such as JT Education Pty Ltd. These terms sit alongside our platform terms and privacy policy.
Payments
Tutoring is paid every 4 weeks or every 12 weeks, on the day before your intake's billing cycle starts, and renews automatically until you cancel. The enrolment page shows what is due today and what each payment after that will be before you pay. Prices are in AUD and include GST.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time by emailing team@bigbrain.au. We count the time your email arrives. Classes the student has already had, and any class starting within 24 hours of your email, are not refunded, and a class the student missed counts as a class they sat. Every later class you have paid for is refunded. To stop your next payment, cancel at least 48 hours before your billing date; if that payment has already been taken, its unused classes are refunded under the same rule. The 12-weekly plan works the same way, at the 12-weekly price per class. We process refunds by hand, so please allow a few business days.
Recordings
Classes are recorded so enrolled students can rewatch them. Recordings are shared with the students on that class's roster, parents who have paid for the class and asked for access, and tutors and staff. Access is removed shortly after an enrolment ends.
Your consumer rights
The cancellation rules above are for when you change your mind. They don't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if a class or event isn't provided with due care and skill, or doesn't go ahead, you are entitled to a remedy, including a refund where the law provides one.
Class times
You choose an evening and an Applied session when you enrol. If a class you chose fills while you are paying, we still book you into it. You can change to another time from your programs page while there is room.
